Grows into a medium-sized multi-stemmed shrub, over 12 feet tall and 15 feet wide. Well suited throughout eastern Washington, prefers moist soils that are coarse to medium in texture at elevations around 800 feet. Mackenzie willow is useful in streambank stabilization, riparian and wildlife habitat improvement, shelterbelts, and other uses requiring a moisture tolerant species.
