THORN AND COW CREEK

Thorn and Cow Creek is a paired watershed study in the Palouse River watershed that the District has been monitoring since 2016. These two creeks have relatively similar watershed characteristics though landowners on Thorn Creek have implemented significantly more riparian buffers. The parameters monitored on these sites include sediment, nutrient, and temperature loads, and riparian habitat complexity and structure.
