Palouse Conservation District (PCD) will host a Cover Crop Field Tour on Thursday, June 30th from 7:30 to 10:00 am. A local producer will share insights from cover crop trials on their operation, as well as a hands-on soil health demonstration.


Located south of Uniontown, local producer Frank Wolf will discuss the successes and challenges of seed mixes, including seed rates and termination tactics, to build soil fertility and organic matter, reduce soil erosion, and manage compaction, field moisture, weeds, pests, and disease. A hands-on demonstration on how to conduct an on-farm soil health assessment will be provided by planners from PCD and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
