Join Palouse Conservation District for the January Soil Health Breakfast on Wednesday, January 7th from 8-10 am at The Center in Colfax (attached to the library - 110 S Main St, Colfax, WA 99111). Enjoy coffee and breakfast as you learn about the soil health practices that your fellow producers are implementing on their operations. This event is intended as a peer-to-peer learning opportunity for local farmers and ranchers.
This month’s featured guest speaker is Kyle Schultheis. Kyle operates Diamond-S Farms in Colton, WA, alongside his father, Art. In response to increasingly challenging market conditions, Kyle has been exploring innovative strategies to strengthen the farm’s resilience, including intercropping systems such as peas/oats and peaola, reducing reliance on synthetic inputs, and independently separating their interseeded crops. Join us for a closer look at how these practices are shaping profitability and soil health at Diamond-S Farms, and hear firsthand insights from Kyle about what he’s learning along the way.
