Join Palouse Conservation District for the December Soil Health Breakfast on Wednesday, December 10th from 8-10 am at The Center in Colfax (attached to the library - 110 S Main St, Colfax, WA 99111). Enjoy coffee and breakfast as you learn about the soil health practices that your fellow producers are implementing on their operations. This event is intended as a peer-to-peer learning opportunity for local farmers and ranchers.
Guest speaker Ariel Zakarison will highlight strategies she’s applying to enhance soil health at Zakarison Farms. Among other topics, Ariel will discuss her experience implementing cover crops, intercropping, and alternative fertility on their farm, as well as direct-to-consumer marketing.

About our speaker:
Ariel Zakarison is a fourth-generation grain farmer in the Palouse region. Ariel and her mother, Sheryl Hagen-Zakarison, also run a feed mill supplying about 200 local farmers and homesteaders in Washington and Idaho with affordable poultry and livestock feed made from non-GMO grains grown in a no-till/low disturbance system.
