Upcoming Talk 12.11.25 | Noxious Weeds

Join us on Thursday, December 11th at 6:00 pm via Zoom for the next installment of our Conservation Talk Series! We will be joined by Scott Watson, Whitman County Noxious Weed Control Board Coordinator. This presentation will explore the most common local noxious and invasive plant species—what they look like, why they’re a problem, and the steps we can take as a community to reduce their spread. Whether you live in town, work the land, or are a student calling Pullman home for a few years, this presentation offers practical knowledge you can put to use.

Participants will gain insight into how noxious weeds impact native biodiversity, local agriculture, and the landscapes we enjoy every day. You’ll also learn about simple, effective strategies for weed mitigation that help protect healthy habitats and support the long-term resilience of our region’s natural ecosystems.

Noxious weed management isn’t just a rural issue—it’s a shared responsibility that begins with awareness. This talk will equip attendees with the tools to identify invasive species early and understand what resources are available for reporting and removal. Together, we can work toward maintaining the Palouse’s unique beauty and ecological balance.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a local expert and make a difference in preserving the health and diversity of our shared environment!

Unable to join us for this presentation? The recording will be posted here a week after the presentation.
