The Education and Outreach Assistant’s responsibility is to assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating educational lessons for youth, landowners, and the general public and other education programs and projects; planning, organizing, and coordinating public events; recruiting and managing volunteers; developing effective communication and marketing materials; and assisting other staff in carrying out miscellaneous grant or contract-related tasks as part of the District’s annual plan of work.
The successful candidate will be familiar with local conservation issues, resource concerns, and conservation needs, increasing community awareness of local natural resource conservation needs, to help encourage a conservation ethic within the community.
