Are you ready to transform your small acreage project into a thriving, resilient space? Palouse Conservation District has two types of seed mixtures available for your project, while supplies last:
The Plow-Down Cover Crop Mix is a blend of green manure crops to enhance your garden soil. These crops can increase organic matter and nutrient availability in the soil, improve soil moisture holding capacity, prevent excessive weed growth, and reduce risk of erosion.
The Inland Northwest Native Mix is a blend of grasses perfect for use in restoration of native areas. They are drought-tolerant and resilient once they are fully grown. They are effective in soil stabilization, improved water filtration, and groundwater storage.
Thanks to overwhelming interest and response, pasture mix is no longer available.
To be eligible, your project must be located in Whitman County. Priority will be given to projects located within the Palouse CD boundary that are smaller than ten acres. Not sure if you’re in our boundary? Input your address here to see which Whitman County conservation district serves you!
Ready to get started? Review our Seed Mixture Information below and fill out the interest form today. Supplies are limited, and filling out the interest form does not guarantee you will receive seeds. Contact Elizabeth at ElizabethS@PalouseCD.org if you have questions about the program.
