As part of funding awarded by the Washington State Conservation Commission, PCD is seeking to provide technical and financial assistance for homeowners for wildfire resiliency. Interested homeowners can fill out our Request for Assistance form by February 29th, 2024.
PCD staff members are available to visit properties to provide one-on-one advice for conducting a home ignition zone risk assessment, hazardous fuels reduction, forest health improvements, defensible space creation, and more. Cost-share funding is also available for homeowners to assist with hazardous vegetation removal.
Priority status for financial assistance will be given to homeowners residing in urban-wildland interfaces and rural communities within Palouse Conservation District boundaries. All interested homeowners in Whitman County are encouraged to apply.
