Upcoming Event 10.2.21 | Critters in the River

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

Join Palouse Conservation District (PCD) for an exploration of the macroinvertebrates found in the South Fork of the Palouse River on Saturday, October 2nd from 10 am - 12 pm! This is a family-friendly event and all ages are welcome.

PCD Staff will provide a brief overview of the state of our waters and the work the District has done to improve water quality on the Palouse. They will also go over how to identify macroinvertebrates and discuss how these small critters can tell us quite a lot about the quality of an aquatic habitat.

Participants will be encouraged to enter the river and search for macroinvertebrates (water conditions permitting). We recommend you wear rubber boots or water shoes, dress for the weather, and bring a water bottle.

Social distancing is required. Masks are strongly recommended. Masks will be required for all participants if social distancing is not an option, regardless of vaccination status.

Participants should meet at the parking lot of the Pullman Community Garden at Koppel Farm. Staff and participants will walk together to the river.

Questions? Contact Elizabeth Sebo at ElizabethS@PalouseCD.org for more information.

We hope to see you there!
